Amigurumi Fear Free Crochet Pattern

Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors, I wanted to share the free amigurumi patterns for you here. In my article I will share 1 pattern and how to make it for you. At the end of my article, I will share amigurumi patterns that can generate ideas for you.


Materials

Worsted weight yarn in the following colors:
Lavender Purple (try using Bernat Handicrafter in Lavender)
Black (try using Red Heart Super Saver in Black)
White (try using Red Heart Super Saver in White)
Light Blue (try using Red Heart Super Saver in Light Blue)
Dark purple (try using Red Heart Super Saver in Amethyst)
3.0 mm Crochet Hook
Safety Eyes (I used 6.0 mm)
Poly-fil or any Polyester Stuffing of your choice
Yarn Needle
Stitch Markers
Scissors

Stitches & Abbreviations

st/sts – stitch/stitches
ch – chain
slst – slip stitch
sc – single crochet (using the yarn under method)
sc inc – single crochet increase, 2 single crochets in one stitch
sc dec – single crochet decrease, single crochet 2 stitches together
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
BLO – back loops only
FLO – front loops only

Notes

I made this amigurumi doll using the “Yarn Under Single Crochet”
technique. This technique makes the stitches tighter and appears
more aligned.
I also used a half-color changing technique to achieve cleaner lines
when changing colors from one row to another

Head

Using a 3.0 mm crochet hook with peach yarn…
Round 1: Magic Circle with a base of 6 sc (6 sts)
Round 2: Sc inc in each st around (12 sts)
Round 3: [Sc, sc inc] x 6 times (18 sts)
Round 4-5: Sc in each st around (18 sts)
Round 6: [Sc, sc inc, sc] x 6 times (24 sts)
Round 7-8: Sc in each st around (24 sts)
Round 9: [Sc, sc dec, sc] x 6 times (18 sts)
Round 10-11: Sc in each st around (18 sts)
Round 12: [Sc, sc dec] x 6 times (12 sts)
Round 13: Sc BLO in each st around (12 sts)
Round 14-16: Sc in each st around (12 sts)
Cut and fasten off. Stuff firmly and push rows 14-16 inside the head to
create a tunnel and a hole for the neck to go into later.

Eyeballs

Using a 3.0 mm crochet hook with white yarn…
Round 1: Magic Ring with a base of 5 sc (5 sts)
Round 2: Sc inc in each st around (10 sts)
Round 3: Sc in each st around (10 sts)
Cut and fasten off. Put the safety eyes into the center of the magic
ring.
Using a 3.0 mm crochet hook with lavender yarn…
Round 1: Magic Ring with a base of 5 sc (6 sts)
Round 2: Sc inc in each st around (12 sts)
Round 3-4: Sc in each st around (12 sts)
Cut and fasten off with a long tail for sewing.
Push the white half-sphere into the lavender half-sphere and use the
tail to sew the purple piece onto the white piece. Then use the
remaining lavender yarn to sew onto the head.

Nose

Using a 3.0 mm crochet hook with white yarn…
Round 1: Magic Ring with a base of 4 sc (4 sts)
Round 2-4: Sc in each st around (4 sts)
Cut and fasten off with a tail to sew onto the face.

Eyebrows

Ch 5
Cut and fasten off. Weave in the tails to the chain and sew it onto the
top of the eyeballs.

Hair

Ch 10
Cut and fasten off. Weave in one side of the tail to the chain and then
sew the loose strands onto the head.

Arms

Using a 3.0 mm crochet hook with lavender yarn…
Round 1: Magic Ring with a base of 6 sc (6 sts)
Round 2: Sc in each st around (6 sts)
Change to light blue yarn…
Round 3-5: Sc in each st around (6 sts)
Cut and fasten off.

Left leg

Using a 3.0 mm crochet hook with black yarn…
Round 1: Magic Ring with a base of 5 sc (5 sts)
Round 2: Sc inc in each st around (10 sts)
Round 3: Sc BLO in each st around (10 sts)
Round 4: 6 sc, 2 sc dec (8 sts)
Change to lavender yarn…
Round 5-9: Sc in each st around (8 sts)
Cut and fasten off.

Right leg and body

Using a 3.0 mm crochet hook with black yarn…
Round 1: Magic Ring with a base of 5 sc (5 sts)
Round 2: Sc inc in each st around (10 sts)
Round 3: Sc BLO in each st around (10 sts)
Round 4: 2 Sc dec, 6 sc (8 sts)

Change to lavender yarn…
Round 5-9: Sc in each st around (8 sts)
Do not cut or fasten off, instead, finish off with a Ch 2.
Round 10: Join the second leg with the first leg. 8 sc around the first
leg, 2 sc along the ch, 8 sc around the second leg, 2 sc along the other
side of the ch (20)
Round 11-12: Sc in each st around (20 sts)
Change to black yarn…
Round 13: Sc in each st around (20 sts)
Start with white yarn, then alternate between black and white yarn for
every st…
Round 14: Sc in each st around (20 sts)
You ended with black yarn in the last round. Start with black yarn as
your first st of the round, again, alternate between black and white for
every st…
Round 15: Sc in each st around (20 sts)
You ended with white yarn in the last round. Start with white yarn as
your first st of the round, again, alternate between black and white for
every st except for around the sleeves, for which you will use light blue
yarn as indicated…
Round 16: 4 sc, 6 sc around the first arm (using light blue yarn), 10
sc, 6 sc around the second arm (using light blue yarn), 6 sc (32 sts)
Start with black yarn, again, alternate between black and white for
every st around. Don’t forget to stuff your doll as the opening is getting
smaller…
Round 17: Sc dec in each st around (16 sts)
Using only black yarn…
Round 18: Sc dec in each st around (8 sts)
Change to lavender yarn (optional, you can continue crocheting with
black color for the neck if you would like since not much is going to
show anyway)…
Round 19: Sc BLO in each st around (8 sts)
Round 20-24: Sc in each st around (8 sts)
Cut and fasten off. Leave a long tail to attach the head and the body.
String the tail through the bottom hole at the bottom of the head and
pull the neck so it goes into the hole in the head to create a sturdier
neck.

Bowtie

Ch 4 Row 1: Dc into the third st from the hook, dc (2 sts),
…without cutting or turning, repeat the instructions between the *’s
When done, cut and fasten off and weave the ends back to the center
of the bow to sew onto the body.

Assembly

  1. Use the long tail from the body/neck to string through the
    tunnel on the bottom of the headpiece and pull the neck
    through the hole and then secure it together.
  2. Sew the two eyeballs together and then attach them to the
    head.
  3. Attach the nose between the two eyeballs.
  4. Attach the eyebrows on top of the eyeballs
  5. Attach the purple strand of hair to the top of the head.
  6. Attach the bowtie to the neck/body.
