Amigurumi Tropical Fish Free Crochet Pattern

Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors, I wanted to share the free amigurumi patterns for you here. In my article I will share 1 pattern and how to make it for you. At the end of my article, I will share amigurumi patterns that can generate ideas for you.

You will need:

  • Medium weight orange yarn for body and fins
  • Black yarn (small amount) for spots, stripes, head and small fins
  • White felt – cut out small circles 2.5 cm in diameter for the eyes
  • Black safety eyes (pair) 12 mm
  • Hook 4 mm
  • Polyester padding
  • Stitch marker
  • Tapestry needle (for stitching pieces together)
  • Pins for holding parts together before stitching

Abbreviations:
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
2 sc in one loop = increase
2 sc together = decrease (2 loops go into one)
from * to * = repeat instructions the specified number of times
p = loop
1 ch = 1 chain
KA = amigurumi ring

Please note:* Those items that are knitted in circular rows should be knitted in a continuous spiral. Do not close rows unless otherwise stated.* Place a stitch marker at the beginning of each row and move it as you complete each row.* Change colors using the last yarn over in the last stitch of the original color.* 1 chain stitch at the beginning of a round row does not count as a separate stitch unless otherwise indicated.

Cast off the last loop and hide the end of the thread inside the fish. If you are using safety eyes, cut 2.5cm diameter circles from white felt, cut a hole in the center and insert eyes between rows 8 and 9 of the head on each side of the head.

Upper and lower orange fins
Knit in the round. Orange yarn. Don’t stuff. 2 pcs.
KR1: 18 ch – starting from the second loop from the hook, sc in next. 16 loops, 3 sc in last ch (this will allow you to knit along the bottom of the chain), sc in next. 15 loops, 3 sc in the last loop (37 loops)
KR2: 2 sc in the next. loop, sc in next. 15 loops, 2 sc together, sc in next. 17 loops, 2 sc in next. 2 loops (39 loops)
KR3: RLS in next. 15 loops, 2 sc together, sc in next. 15 loops, 2 sc in next. 3 loops, sc in next. 2 loops (40 loops)
KR4: RLS in next. 15 loops, 2 sc together, sc in next. 16 loops, 2 sc in next. 3 loops, sc in next. 4 loops (42 loops)
KR5: RLS in next. 11 loops, 2 sc together, 2 sc together, 2 sc together, sc in next. 18 stitches, do not knit the remaining stitches. Fold flat and sc along the hole to close it.

Bind off the last stitch, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew one fin to the top of the fish and the other to the bottom.

Tail fin
Knit in the round. Don’t stuff. 2 pcs.
KR1: KA – 4 sc in ring

Bind off the last stitch, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew one fin on each side to the bottom of the fish at the junction of black and orange.

Stripes

30 ch. Starting from the second loop from the hook, conn. Art. next 7 loops, sc in next. 3 loops, hdc in next. 9 loops, dc in next. 3 loops, conn. Art. in the last 7 stitches. Bind off the last stitch, leaving a long tail. Sew 3 stripes on each side of the fish.

Specks
of black yarn. Knit in the round. 4 things.
