Knitting Toy Amigurumi Donkey Pattern

Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors, I wanted to share the free amigurumi patterns for you here. In my article I will share 1 pattern and how to make it for you. At the end of my article, I will share amigurumi patterns that can generate ideas for you.

You will need:
1) Fine cotton yarn in the colors of mink, ivory, dove and black, as well as the colors you will use for the poncho.
2) 2.75 or 3 mm hook
3) Toy stuffing
4) 2 black safety eyes (10 mm)
5) 1 stitch marker
6) Tapestry needle or large eye needle

Abbreviations:
approx. – approximately
the beginning – beginning of
the chain stitch – behind the back walls of the loops
Bump – 5 dc together in the same loop (yarn over, insert the hook into the indicated loop, yarn over, pull out the loop, yarn over and knit 2 loops) x 5 times, inserting the hook into the same loop loop each time, yarn over and knit all the loops on the hook.
Arr. – increase
Repeat – repeat
KR – circular row
sc – single crochet
2 sc together (insert hook into next loop, yarn over and knit a loop) x 2 times, yarn over and knit all 3 loops on the hook.
VP – air loop
cont. – continue
decreasing. –
decrease conn. Art. – connecting post
p. – yarn
over loop
() – instructions in parentheses repeat the specified number of times

Note:

The amount of yarn you need depends on the yarn you choose and the tightness of your knit.

Tension does not greatly affect the size, but it is important that the loops fit tightly, otherwise the stuffing will show through. It is best to use a smaller hook size than what is indicated on the yarn label.

The toy is knitted in a spiral, the circular rows are not closed. It is very helpful to use a stitch marker or pin to mark the beginning of each row. Move the stitch marker as you knit each row.

At the end of each row there is a number in brackets, which indicates the number of loops in the row.

The head, body and legs are knitted together as one piece.

Muzzle:
Ivory yarn
KR 1: 6 RLS in amigurumi ring (6)

KR 4: ( RLS in next 2 sts, inc in next sts) x 6 times (24)
KR5-9: RLS in each loop in circle (24)

Bind off the last stitch, leaving a long tail for sewing. Embroider the nose and mouth with black yarn and stuff. I stuff the muzzle when I sew it to the head.

KR 23:(RLS in next 7 p., decrease) x 6 times (48)
KR 24: (RLS in next 6 p., decrease) x 6 times (42)
KR 25: (RLS in next 5 p., decrease ) x 6 times (36)
KR 26: (RS in next 4 sts, decrease) x 6 times (30)
Sew the muzzle to the head and insert safety eyes.
KR 27: (RS in next 3 sts, decrease) x 6 times (24)
KR 28: RLS in each loop in a circle (24)
Stuff the head tightly.

Body
Change the yarn to white. Continue knitting in stripes. 1 CR white, then 1 CR blue.

KR 29: (white) (RLS in next 3 p., increase in next p.) x 6 times (30)
KR 30: (blue) (RLS in next 4 p., increase in next p.) x 6 times (36)
KR 31-34: (knit in stripes, alternating white and gray) RLS in each st in the round (36)
KR 35: (white) (RLS in next 5 sts, increase in next sts .) x 6 times (42)
KR 36-39: (knit in stripes, alternating white and gray) RLS in each stitch in the round (42)
Switch to mink-colored yarn.
KR 40: (knit behind the back walls of the loops) RLS in each stitch in the circle (42)
KR 41-46: RLS in each loop in the circle (42)

Divide the legs
To make the legs, you need to divide the knitting by identifying 3 loops that form the space between the legs, 3 loops in the back, and 18 loops for each leg (it is convenient to use stitch markers). Starting at the back, join the last leg stitch from the back to the front, making a sc (this sc will become the first leg stitch). Now connect the loops of the first leg into a circle. Continue knitting the first leg.

KR 47-68: RLS in each stitch around (18)
Stuff body and leg tightly.
KR 69: (RLS, decrease) x 6 times (12)
KR 70: 2 RLS together x 6 times (6)

Bind off the last stitch, leaving a long tail. Stuff your leg. Using a tapestry needle, pull the yarn through the front of each remaining stitch and pull tight to close the hole.

Second leg
Join mink colored yarn to the fourth back unknitted stitch KP 46, which will become the first stitch of the second leg.

Continue knitting the second leg, like the first from KR 47-70.

Ears: 2 pcs.
Using mink yarn
KR 1: 6 sc in amigurumi ring (6)
KR 2: sc in each loop in a circle (6)
Using mink yarn and ivory yarn, continue knitting with a jacquard pattern.

KR 4: RLS in each loop in a circle (8 loops in mink, 4 loops in ivory) (12)
KR 5: ( RLS, increase in next stitch) x 6 times (12 loops – mink, 6 loops – ivory) (18)
KR 6: RLS in each loop in a circle (12 loops in mink, 6 loops – ivory) (18 )
KR 7:(RS in next 2 loops, increase in next stitch) x 6 times (16 loops – mink, 8 loops – ivory) (24) KR 8-24: RLS in each loop in a circle (16 loops in
mink , 8 loops – ivory) (24)
Bind off the last loop, leaving a long tail for sewing.

The poncho is knitted on the basis of a chain connected into a ring, knitting continues in a spiral.
